From an engineering standpoint (heat transfer specifically)aluminum conducts heat much more readily than glass. Because of this, the can will cool down faster, and also warm back up faster. This is a general answer, assuming that the can and the bottle are both 12oz. Aluminum bottles behave just like cans, although some believe differently (same material, same heat transfer characteristics). If one is significantly larger than the other (in diameter and height, it will take more time to warm up simply because there is more beer to warm up. I have, however, noticed that the aluminum seems to effect the flavor of the beer a bit, which is also something to consider. I hope this helps!

I would say it depends on how you hold it, like a white wine you hold by the stem so the wine doesnt get warm, So i think if you poored you beer into a mug that had a handle it would last longer than any of it, and from the can i would take a first couple swigs then hold it from the top, same with the bottle.

The bottle because the bottle is a lot thick then the can and so heat will reach slower to the beer in the bottle then the beer in a can and so it will cool down slower.

In my husband's case, the one he drinks second. Which means the can would probably be cold for about 15 minutes longer than the bottle.

If they contain the same volume a glass bottle glass will keep colder (but not much) longer than an regular aluminum can. insulated aluminum cans and regular aluminum bottles keep cooler longer than glass at room temperature… plastic bottles are the worst! Additional, beverages in aluminum containers (cans too) cool faster, than glass or plastic …

Glass is by far a better insulator against temperature than aluminum so in general it should stay cold longer in a bottle.

My husband the alcoholic asked his AA class and everyone agreed that the can would stay colder longer.

Great question, I don't know the answer but I will say that no matter what the bottled beer will taste better.

Can. I live in a humid, hot tropical area and the cans stay colder.

Drink faster and you won't have to worry which will be colder longer.
