How can I STOP the "LADYBUG" INVASION?

I live in Kentucky and a few years ago the Government funded the release of Ladybug type bugs but they are not real ladybugs just look alot like them, anyway they got out of hand and now before winter they want to live on our houses, right now there is seriously at least 1 million bugs in and around my house. How can they be stopped? there is 50 in my bed, a thousand on my walls, a hundred in my car and I get about 20 on me just by walking outside!

To make things worse my mom is allergic to the bugs, she went to the agriculture office that released these bugs and asked how we can get rid of them and they denied releasing the bugs, my uncle even seen them posting these boxes on nearby trees that the bugs were originally released from.

Does anyone know what we can do to stop them? Besides spraying poison all over the place?

I live in northeast TN and I just signed on to look for an answer to this same exact question. I have lady bugs EVERYWHERE also. But along with my "uninvited guests" I have two dogs and a cat, so I also don't want to use poisons of any sort. I'm hoping for something we can use that's natural (sort of like salt kills slugs). My house is so clean you could eat off the floors and we just caulked throughout the house so I don't know what the ladybugs are eating nor do I know how they are getting in! They are just plain annoying! So sorry I can't help you but maybe someone will see our frustration and give us a good answer.

My neighbor just told me that, she was told bay leaves work. I guess you place them in the window sills etc. I don't know if it'll work but I'm gonna try it! :)

There are certain kinds of shrubs that naturally ward off bugs. Go to your local Home Depot and ask what they are, or call a landscaper. I am not sure if they will live in your area, I live in GA and bugs get crazy around here and that is what many people that don't like or can't be around poison or the bugs do. I think it is a type of holly shrub, but don't quote me on that. If that doesn't work, then try citronella. If that don't either, then I am very sorry.

Ladybug invasion got you down? No sweat! All you need to do is go on down to that there Home-Depot and get yourself a crapload of them there industrial strength atomic bug bombs. Strategically place them all over the house. Don't worry about having too many of them there bombs. For maximum desired results, use around 40-60 bombs for a 2000 square foot house. I personally guarantee that those stinking lady-bugs will not be a problem any more. Just stay out of the house for around 2 months.

lady bugs are good luck.. you've got a lot.

    see below

    vacuum

Asian ladybugs, first brought to the Carolinas and Georgia to control plant-eating pests like aphids, are now invading New Jersey homes. Large swarms have been reported on home exteriors, with some making their way inside as the weather cools, said Edward Bradbury, president of the New Jersey Pest Control Association. The insects can be removed with a vacuum cleaner, he said. TERRY PRISTIN

catch them and give to community gardeners for chemical free bug control

Sounds like a good plot for a Sci Fi channel movie. Swarm of insects, government cover up, an uncle, its got all the ingredients for a first rate thriller.

Catch and release? How awful! The first thing I thought of was a good vaccum. There must be something your city or state can do about your problem. Continue to complain until you get a solution.

    Good Luck
