How do I politely tell my neighbors,?

I can hear almost everything they do They have no rugs down on their floors and some type machine that runs all night long and hums over my head.

Plus when one of the girls has a boyfriend I know when they are making love.

i'd leave them a note - nicely worded. if that doesn't work make a sly little comment -- so how was the chinese take out and did your BF have as much fun as you last night - i heard you for a few hours but nothing from him then wink and walk away LOL

Catch them gone and put a note on their door, if you don't want to face them in person. But you have to remember that if you live in a apartment below someone, there is only a certain limit to what you can do.

I was in the same situation. I lived in a downstairs apartment, and the people up stairs would be running in and out at 2 am, turning their stereo up, and what sound like someone being body slammed on the floor.

When we went to the landlord, we were told that since its not hearable outside the apartment, there was nothing she could do.

So , your best bet is just drop a not asking them to be a lil quieter.

There's really not much you can do. Living in a basement apartment, you are going to hear everything regardless. Try talking to them politely, explain that you're not asking for silence, just a little quieter.

But, you should seriously look into a new place to live, as it's never going to end.

I am currently having this problem, but my upstair neighbor is fat and not getting laid. He stomps on the floor. He says we slam doors, (we don't) so he stomps on the floors. Or so he told management. Anyways, apartments are not fun. Next time your upper neighbor starts making a little bit to much noise, but before they get to the bedroom, go on up and knock on their door. Let them know that you can here pretty much everything going on. Either they will be grateful that you let them know or they won't care. If they don't care, move

Casually ask them can you guys hear me in my house? When they answer tell them you can hear them and they may get the hint to keep quiet. If that doesn't work hit the ceiling with a broom when they get noisy

this reminds me of The Nutty Professor....when he came back from his date and was so happy, and he started dancing around the house playing his music so loud...get a broom and yell at the ceiling tell them to shut up. It always works for me with my roommates

Move! I once lived on the bottom apartment and could hear everything, carpeting didn't help a bit. I could even hear them fart, it was awful. Just move.
