My hand hurts. Why does my hand hurt?

I'm soaking wet sitting in an IT lesson, getting on with whatever, and now my hand suddenly starts throbbing. It's not in my palms, on the underside immediately beneath my fingers, more or less in the middle.

I suppose I'm just stalling IT but why does my hand hurt?

Update:

:-o that's rude!!! IT is computers. Irrelevant really.

    You're wet, right?

    So, probably cold, too.

Cold can cause pain in the joints, its normal.

If you spend a lot of time on computers, you may have developed an RSI, this stands for repetitive strain injury and you get it from doing one action repeatedly. Just move your wrist around a bit and the pain will soon go away.

I've had a similar thing happen to me before.

    And I never understood it.

    I suggest asking your doctor.
