swelling or inflammation is a defense mechanism of the body on foreign substances or organisms. The swollen area means that the blood vessels are dilated.
so u can use.. cold compress for 10 minutes.. to constrict the blood vessels.
or use hydrocortisone, a steroid ointment which would increase blood vessel permeability so the liquid form on the swelling coud easily go back to the circulatory system. but steroids should be used less often..

Benedryl after bite stick. You can buy it at the pharmacy. you just rub it on and the swelling will be gone in about an hour or even half hour.

Do you have a cat? I am not kidding, let the cat lick the bite, it will shrink and disappear within one hour. I tried it three times and it was a big success. It seems the cat's tongue contains a magical treatment

Anti allergy such as Zirtek or Piraton, they are brilliant, and maybe some ice if they have really swelled up. I don't find creams work that well.
