where can I locate cloth radiator covers for the home ? (not the wooden kind)?
I just moved into an apartment built in a building 1928. It has three radiators that are not being used becaue it now has central air and heat. I would like to cover them up but not with wood covers. Does anyone know where I can get cloth covers for them without making them myself?

Try Overstock.Com, they have some unusual items as does Pier One and some of the other more exotic decorating places.
I can't think of the name of the one I use to go to in San Francisco, but going online I would look up interior designs/imports because a lot of the things from overseas are a bit different and actually quite functional. Have you ever thought of using screens (three panel folding screens) for hiding them or as a room divider? they work very well and actually are movable walls of a sort.

Along with stone, mud and animal parts, wood was one of the first materials worked by early humans. Microwear analysis of the Mousterian stone tools used by the Neanderthals show that many were used to work wood. The development of civilization was closely tied to the development of increasingly greater degrees of skill in working these materials.

I can guarantee it.. you will NOT find any covers that are for radiators... They just are not made... The ONLY solution is for you to buy the material that suits you and take it to a seamstress(upholsterer) or some such person...
