My 3 month old kitten is destroying ( actually destroyed one this morning and I had to throw it away) horizontal blinds . I have to cover the windows because my bed is right by the window and you can see in the apartment from the street ( 1st floor) was thinking of room darkening drapes. that way he can still get on the window seel. Any ideas?

I just got a digital convertor box for my analog t.v. and it is working great. However it says I am only getting 65 % attenna strength. I have an old rabbit ears from Radio shack. I am thinking of getting new indoor attenna. Do I need a digital indoor antenna with the convertor box to get more attenna power or will a regular one work just as well with the convertor box for increasing the signal

I have a 2002 chevy tracker. A couple days ago the drivers electric window will go all the way down when pushing the button to open it and will only go half way up on it's own when closing it, and you need to pull it the rest the way to closed with you hand. For a few weeks before it started doing this it was operating properly but made a squeeking noise. I do not think the motor has gone out yet on the window, but the dealer say they want around $400 to fix it by replacing the motor. How many of the rest of you with trackers have had window trouble?Any of you mechanics out there ,what do you think it wrong with the window? Thanks

Has anyone used stesszyme in their tanks before? I have coldwater goldfish tank that is cycling and constantly turning cloudy. I put some in to see if it would speed up the cycle. Has anyone had success using it?

I have tap water that is very high in calcium and lime ( turns my stainless steel sink white just running the faucet) My question is this. I have been using bottled spring and distilled water for water changes , but it is starting to get costly to do it. I have tried aging the tap water , but with the high levels of calcium and lime in the water the tank water becomes cloudy and milky the next day. Does anyone no of a water treatement (besides aquasafe) that will neutralize these chemicals in my tap water?

Hi BioGeek I prefer you to answer this. I have a ten gallon cold water fresh water aquarium. The problem I am having is what I believe to be brown slime alge on my tank walls and and bottom. I graduated to this tank from a 5gallon. I rinsed and used the gravel from the 5 gal tank and added some new rinsed gravel so it is cultured already. I run a top fin bio filter and aerator with a buble wall. I do partial water changes weekly and wipe down the algae from the walls and decor ( one small pagoda). However the tank has aquired a smell. Is it possibly new tank syndrome or do I need to get rid of the gravel . I read somewhere it is not neccessary to have gravel in a tank around my size to cut down on how much waste deposits there. I do vacumm the gravel well during the water changes. Is the tank cycling or do I need to get some algae destroyer for the next water change? I just changed the water on Sunday. Help I can't stand the smell

I have two corydora aenus catfish. They are in a tank with goldfish. My questions is do I need to get a heater for the tank for the catsfish? Someone at Petco told me that this kind of catfish does not need a heater. I reminded him that they were from South America and the climate is tropical there. He told me that these kind of catfish inhabit the cool river bottoms of South America where it is usaully 60 degrees. I was wanting to know if that is accurate. I have had many tropical and cold waterfish over the years but this is my fist set of corydora catfish.

I have three calico (sunbunkin) gold fish. My question is this- They are all still babie ( an inch or less long) and one of the bigger ones has a small red spot that looks almost orange in color on just one of his pectoral fins. He seems pretty heathly. Wandering if this could be a color variation since he is so young? I was also thinking ulcer but not seeing any on other two makes me wander. What do you think
