goldfish pectoral fin?

I have three calico (sunbunkin) gold fish. My question is this- They are all still babie ( an inch or less long) and one of the bigger ones has a small red spot that looks almost orange in color on just one of his pectoral fins. He seems pretty heathly. Wandering if this could be a color variation since he is so young? I was also thinking ulcer but not seeing any on other two makes me wander. What do you think

Update:

Thanks for info BioGeek. I looked at him yesterday and the spot semms to have disappeared.

If the fish are not over crowded, over fed and are in a large enough tank, it probably is not an ulcer (skin erosion).

For goldies I like to add Baussman's Goldfish Tonic salts. Not only does it add salt which is good for goldfish, but a minor dose of a medicine that inhibits parasites. It would help if you do have any.

The small red spot could be fin coloration, or it could be damage from a parasite. But if your water quality is normal and you are not overfeeding, just monitor and watch the fish.

do not difficulty, it will be superb even though it ought to swim extra slowly than the different fish. I actually have a fish with a pectoral fin lacking - it truly is a twin of the others and it truly is doing superb. it truly is learnt to evolve to it yet only makes use of it truly is tail somewhat extra. although, only make confident that the fish are not too hungry once you feed them, or the fish would no longer get sufficient foodstuff because all the different fish would eat all of it up.
