Is there anyone else out here who thinks there are way too many folks asking Pet questions ....?
Who else out here feels there are way too many people signing on in this forum asking serious Pet/Animal questions that should be seeing a VET instead,.and way too many idiots giving out rediculous and incorrect answers to those often life threatening situations??!!
It is just common sense that if you have a dog who is not eating or drinking and laying there you see a VET!!! Or a rabbit having seizures.. you dont wait an hour THEN sign into Yahoo and ask complete strangers what should I do?
I realize maybe some can not afford the VET.. but then You should NOT have those animals. If youc ant afford to take care of them .. DONT GET THEM!
Am I the only one out here who comes on and sees this every time they sign in and just cant beleive it?
Oh and lets not forget the ones asking for Medical diagnosis or advice from " vet Techs or Vets only" Please
NOBODY can make a diagnosis without seeing the animal.. And how would you know they are even VETS!????
So who else feels this way!?
Ok.. I dont mean advice or questions... Should I travel with my turtle or what kind of reptile to get.. how can I help an injured wild animal etc.. Or they have seen a VET and stillhaving trouble and so on
Then This is a great resource...!! really!!
I mean the ones where somebody's animal is suffering and serioulsy ill,, and they have not yet so much as called a VET! If your rabbit is lifeless and shaking you dont sign online you go to the VET...
I see too many things where time is an issue that can affect the outcome and they are online rather than getting proper help.
Its frustrating for me is all...

Very true Wismom and Mystique if you bothered looking at her pedigree you'd understand why she's lashing out. Protecting and helping sick and injured animals have never been easy and it's made all the more dificult when "idiots" give themselves out as experts. You can check any of the post on this site there is always some idiot giving a sarcastic or stupid answer. "What snake should I get?" - "Get a cobra" or "My snake has been shedding for 3 months and it's cage is as dry as 'n desert?" - "Just leave him, if he dies just get another one." Come on guys, if you don't have a good answer to question, just don't answer it. If my comment offends anyone. Good.
So now to sum up take your pets to the VET when they are sick, don't take animals out of nature to make pets out of them, buy captive bred only, don't release captive bred animals into the wild. And PLEASE know what you are getting into before buying/adopting any pet.

Dear Wismom
I have been working with animals for 11 + years, and even though i would have to agree if their is a major issue go see a vet, I would much rather have them ask questions then just ignoring the problem. With some situations the vet defiantly should see the animal, but with reptiles, and birds, vets can't get to seeing the pets right away and this can mean death to the animal. So it is good for someone to get info to help keep it alive till it can go to the vet. The only problem Whit the Internet in general can be bad their is a LOT of incorrect information out there and people must watch out not only on this site.
With fish that is the only way to diagnose a problem is via phone or email we never get to see the fish or the tank. That makes if very tough to solve an issue.
In closing I agree with you in some aspects, and i do feel if one doesn't know the answer keep quite, but sometimes people ask questions to help ease their stress of having a sick animal or possibly sick.
Does this make sense?
you seem very intesting you can email me at djnelson@aquarealmaquarium.com i would love to chat more.

These people have a reason for the questions they ask. Some really don't know and I would rather try to help them than have them sit and do nothing while their pet suffers.
Others want to do something to help their pet but don't have the funds to run to the vet every time their dog/cat/etc. gets a cough. There are many home remedies to help your pet and I assume that is the advise they are seeking.
Yes it's fine and dandy to say if you can't afford vet care don't get the pet. Not gonna happen so it is best to help them as best you can. Took me a long time to learn that.
Yes some people do give outrageous advise. Lets hope they read all the replies and make a smart decision.

Well that's what yahoo answers is for. Hence the name. Some people ask these questions after the vet is closed and want to find out what could be possibly wrong with their animal. You know as a heads up. Are you a Vet? If not how would you know if what people are saying is incorrect. What if a veterinarian was reading the askers question and knew what type of symptoms were causing the animal to be sick or whatever. They would yes still have to go to the vet but at least they would know what they might be facing. Besides, your going to get those kind of questions no matter what topic your in. You should not criticize someone for wanting to know something especially if you yourself don't have an answer.

i could accept as true with you to a factor. despite the fact that if, why regard with contempt people who ask questions with reference to the internet. possibly for you and for me, going to the vet is the glaring answer. I honestly have a spectacular vet who seems after my pets greater effective than maximum docs look after human sufferers. I have faith him a hundred%. yet no longer all people is so fortunate. I honestly have heard some horror thoughts and if I weren't so blessed, I too could be on Yahoo solutions choosing people's brains. there is no longer something like the voice of adventure. We ought to additionally undergo in ideas that many are first time puppy vendors, and whilst something occurs, they get scared. they like reassurance, it extremely is all. And if the respondents all say 'take the animal to the vet', they possibly will and of direction, the better section is they are going to pass there mentally arranged. permit's attempt to be greater expertise we ought to?
