Detroit/St. Louis fans: Polanco or Rolen?
Which player would you rather have? Polanco was traded to Philadelphia in a deal that brought Rolen to the Cardinals.

I loved Polanco as a Cardinal and he has found a great place in Detroit, it was fun to watch him jump up and down with the walk-off HR by Ordonez in Game 4 of the ALCS. He looked like a kid at Christmas.
But Scott Rolen is arguably the greatest defensive third baseman of all-time. By most accounts, he's the best 3B in the game today.
Sore shoulder or not, I take Rolen over Polanco only because of the defense he provides.
BTW, that Rolen-LaRussa "Feud" was played up by Fox. Rolen and LaRussa are fine.

Polanco is a stud, but Scott Rolen, a healthy Scott Rolen, is one of the best all around players in baseball. A lot of people consider him the best defensive third basemen of all time. Of note, last off season, the Cardinals offered Polanco a 3 year, 18 million dollar deal. Polanco, a fan favorite in St. Louis, had wanted to return. However, his agent, who has since been fired, never told Placido about the offer. Polanco accepted arbitration with the Phillies and the rest is history. I predict that, unless Polanco kills the Cardinals in games 1 and 2, he will get a standing ovation upon his return to St. Louis.

I would say Polanco. He is a team player and always has been. I liked him a lot in Philadelphia but I understood him leaving when the Phillies brought in Utley.
Rolen is a problem. I know he and Bowa didn't get along but Rolen never liked Phila. and wanted out. He's a good player but is a cry baby. Even with the Cards fighting for a pennant he complained because he wasn't starting. It didn't matter that he couldn't do anything, it was all about him and not the good of the team.
I like the Tigers in the series. They had a better year and deserve to win. The Cardinals, as far as I'm concerned were not worthy of a world series appearance with an 83-79 regular season record.

Placido Polanco!
Did you know his batting average is .400 with men in scoring position?
While he may not have any power, he knows how to get on base when he has too...and that's all that matters.

Screw both of them, Rolen is over the hill, and Polonco is a barely above average player. Would never get in a game on a better offensive team.

i could extremely see Cardinals VS Mets. yet in spite of this, i've got by no skill been fascinated interior the Yankees in any respect, and it will possibly cost you a large number of money to get into the recent Yankee stadium. pass with the Cardinals/Mets interest, you will take excitement in yourselves greater.
