If I post a question criticizing a Republican or Bush policy, why am I automatically a liberal or democrat?

Are people on here so unintelligent that they think there are only two sides to each issue?

Why can't I be a Republican or conservative and criticize Bush?

It's ironic, because I do support some conservative policies. I simply think Bush and the Republican party are idiots.

Update:

Anyone that gives the a thumbs down is clearly an unintelligent fool. The same would go if I were criticizing a Democrat or liberal position and I were automatically accused of being a Republican or conservative.

The point is that you don't have to be on one side or the other. You can be on both. You can be on one and criticize that one.

Update 2:

I don't listen to Air America or Keith Olberman. Those are just two topics that popped up in my head.

I actually prefer to get my news from CNN (maybe slightly conservative, but not much), the Economist (conservative), and various choosings on the internet.

I don't read liberal media because I perceive it to be too biased.

Because unfortunately, if you do not agree with everything that the republicans say, you are anti-American, un-patriotic, non-Christian, and, un-intelligent. It has nothing to do with the parties, actually, Bush just thinks he is God therefore he can never be wrong. I would love to see politics get back to where it used to be, before there was such a vast division among the parties, and the governments first priorities, were it's people, and what was best for them.

Depends on where the criticism is coming from and how it's addressed. I too have been criticized by Conservative Republicans and labeled as a Liberal Democrat!!! Go figure! It should be pretty clear, at least to the regulars, that I am Conservative Republican. And I think everybody gets thumbs down on even the most innocent question, even if it wasn't a party type question. Clearly some people look at the Q and don't answer, but wield their sword of dissatisfaction with a thumbs down. I ignore it. I asked a Q earlier....basically saying this... Would you like to see the visciousness and hatred stop on this site?...I think the first person said I was a nazi...the second called me something else...ETC. ETC. I hate to use a quote from Ol' Billy Boy, but it's fitting...I FEEL YOUR PAIN....

EDIT* I like Muse's answer. On the money baby.See above.

a million. Republicans supported it too. there have been some liberal democrats antagonistic to the bailout. you could no longer say the bailout exchange into the two liberal or conservative. 2. Reagan extra effective federal spending and the federal deficit extra effective than any president earlier him. Are you calling Reagan a liberal now too? 3. "which almost ever democrat in congress helps, inspite of the indisputable fact that they won't pop out and say it forthright." Then how do you recognize they help it? Do you have any data or is this in basic terms a wager? possibly Bush in simple terms needs the cheap hard paintings for his conservative company pals? No invasion of u . s . a . occured on those previous events you pronounced devoid of huge worldwide help. Carter and Clinton did no longer use unwarranted cord tapes. They have been given warrants. you're incorrect. The recession that sparked the preliminary tax cuts ended a protracted time in the past. Keynesian financial coverage might have dictated removing the tax cuts extremely throughout the time of a time of conflict. Did you pass over the full genuine assets growth/bubble? I actual have never common a Republican president to cut back the dimensions of government. the two Reagan and Bush I extra effective federal spending and the deficit. Republicans in simple terms choose to communicate approximately proscribing government, yet whilst they are in means, they boost the government and grab as lots means as a threat. Bush is a common Republican president.

You fail to understand there IS no such thing as "conservative policies". Cutting taxes, promises of less government spending, etc. are all just a scam to get you to vote for idiots like Bush, et al.

Then they do whatever they want.

You don't actually get tax cuts. They lower your bill and pile on the debt, knowing you'll have to pay it later, or they'll cut some entitlement program down the road on you. Bush and his cronies are the biggest government spenders ever.

You'll never get a true conservative platform, because its all a bunch of economic shell games that only serve the interests of corrupt politicians. But it sure sounded good, didn't it?

But to your point: you are hardly alone. There appear to be many, many, many people who bought the speech and are now pissed off because the elected officials didn't deliver the goods. So what do you do next? You vote for the next Republican who gives the same speech, and he'll do the same thing on you. In every scam, there is someone who scams and someone who is being scammed.

You're correct that people on this site jump to conclusions. If you look at Bush's poll numbers it's clear that even some Republicans don't agree with all his policies. What shocks me on this site is how many people just blindly follow their party and repeat the official party position, seemingly without a thought of their own. This goes for both Dems and Reps on this site.

You can be. But I answered two of your earlier questions where you mention habeas corpus and torture. Two topics that have never been addressed in this forum until Air America and Keith Olberman started using those phrases yesterday.

Since they are liberal sources it is safe to say those ideas were lifted from liberals.

Read the Military Commissions Act of 2006 and understand the law. Do not rely on liberal spin meisters less than three weeks from an election.

The current Pub's rally around the person not the issues. So different than those who earned there way to the Republican plat form, that is before it became a popular issue in Right Wing Christian groups.

I think it easy for people to jump to conclusions in a forum like this one. If you take the same group of people and put them in a room together where they are talking face-to-face, a more intelligent exchange of opinions are expressed. When in a face-to-face conversation, you have body language and facial expressions to help get your point across and understood correctly. Here people only have the written word to judge the contents of your thoughts. For most of us, it's very difficult to express our entire thoughts on a subject relying solely on the written word.

because "i am conservative" and "the republican party are idiots " is a contridiction, unless you claim to be an idiot yourself. But thats your call. I myself am a Libertarian, NOT a "conservative" or a "liberal" but rather a conservativel leaning american. i dont call names, though there are plenty of "idiots" out there to call names at. you may be 'conservative' but if youre "a conservative" you've tagged yourself as a republican, and should be kissing up to bush and everything he does.
