safe remedies for headaches?
lately I've been getting a lot of headaches. probably because it's been rainy lately...
I don't wanna take ibuprofen every time I have a headache because I'm afraid I could become dependent or something. can anyone recommend a non-habit-forming treatment?
and don't tell me to use HeadOn. it's a placebo.

I gave you a good rating for this question, but I don't thing you will be able to follow my advice. What you do is go to the herb store if you have one in your area or go to herbdoc.com. Get some pow-dered cayenne(chili powder) and it must be herbal not the stuff from the store. Make a cup of warm water and put a half to a full teaspoon of cayenne powder in the cup. Put a little bit on your tongue to let your brain tell your stomach to start secreting the acids to break it up. Takes about 5 minutes. Then you slowly drink the cayenne water. Do this three times a day and drink a bottle of pure water in between. In about 5 days you will never get headaches again because the cayenne naturally thins your blood. It also prevents prostate, colon and uterine cancer and in 5 days lowers you cholesterol 50 points. It rebuilds the heart muscle and the stomach lining so you can eat all types of spicy foods. It is natures miracle herb and it prevents 11 major diseases. Enjoy it takes about 5 days for your body to get used to the pain when the cayenne leaves your body.

Cold compress over eyes and laying down in a gloomy room. If that did not paintings then I could take a look at a hot bathe and allow the water run over the again of my neck till the ache subsided. I get migraines and that is how I have handled them during this being pregnant. The dr did ultimately prescribe me whatever considering that they obtained to be so dangerous, however such as you I did not desire to take whatever if in any respect viable.

They say half a cup of coffee will help. Caffeine is a main ingredient in a lot of headache medications. It always helps me.
Either that or a diet coke.
Also, make sure you are drinking enough water. Being a little dehydrated can give you really nasty headaches.

Try using an accuperssure tecnique by squeezing the flesh between your thumb and index finger until you feel a slight pain. Close your eyes and take in some deep breaths until you feel the headache going away.

Take a reg clean potato and put in the fridge until cold. cut in half. and put the white part on forehead and lay down for awhile. I use to sleep with them on my head when I was pregnant. It works.
If you continue to get headches you might consider going to the doctor, to make sure there is not a medical reason for this.

I don't like taking pills. I avoid them like the plague, actually. For headaches I find tea to be the best. Some great chamomille tea.

The accupressure is great (my fiance does pressure point fighting and he has studied accupressure and uses this on me) also masaging your temples, the back of your neck (at the base of your head) or palming your eyes (palms on your eyes and rub). I use these when I get migranes and it helps to lessen the pain.
