Ever get sick of trying to help people here?

I actually sign in here to genuinely help people. I don't answer serious questions that I can't give a decent answer to. I don't give rude answers, even if a question is racist I give my opinion without insulting the asker. I don't condescend people by saying "use spell check". I actually think about the answer I'm giving. Yet for some reason everything I answer or ask is thumbed down.

I got sick of this site a couple of months ago and gave up on it for about a month, I gave it another chance to see if it had gotten better.

I don't particularly care about all the thumbs down I'm going to get, I just wanted to get that off my chest.

Update:

I'm pretty sure it's not the asker of the questions I answer that thumbs me down. However I'm sick of the morons here that thumb down everything for no reason. Grow up and get a life..

Thanks for the answers so far by the way.

My answer to your question is no, not so far. :-)

I took a look at a few of your answers & they were good, helpful responses. I didn't see any thumbs down - so I guess that you can be confident that you really are helping people. There will always be some that don't like your answer, disagree, or are just plain bored and nasty enough to give a thumbs down 'cos they can :-)

To me, it doesn't matter - I don't expect everyone to agree with me - that in iself would be boring! I figure if one of my answers helps just one person, then I've made a difference somewhere, and that's all that counts :-)

So don't quit - you are an asset to YA & we need ya!

For the most part I don't get tired of trying to help. But I do take a breather once in a while. I try to give good, genuine answers that will help solve the problem, rather than just rack up points.

One thing I do get tired of though, is seeing the same questions asked over and over. How hard can it be to search for an answer before asking.

I wouldn't worry too much about a thumbs down. Maybe they just didn't think it was the best answer.

You don't know the source of the thumbs down. Consider the source - it may be a compliment. Keep helping people. And you didn't misspell a single word. Except the period should go inside the quotation mark after the words "use spell check." Sorry, was I being condescending? I thought I was being helpful.

No, I don't get sick of trying to help. Just try not to take this forum so seriously. Some are here to actually ask sincere questions, others are here to goof off and get attention. Hang in there and just do your best to try to help. There is no telling how many people may have learned something from reading your answers.

I do not mind helping people because I had to start somewhere - and people helped me. I understand your frustration, however, and the multiplicity of thumbs down does not tend to bother me as much as it used to. I guess I am developing a thick skin. I do not tolerate any abuse towards my person, however, and tend to gain the upper hand when it happens - sort of a one man "Troll Patrol".

I just look at this site as entertainment. If people don't like my answers I don't care.

Thanks for sharing that, it was a good read, and almost like a breath of fresh air! You are opinionated and not shy about that, I like that! Hoping to read more of your questions, and/or opinions on the matter/s at hand. In sharing, I am a picky selector of questions for the same reasons you share your viewpoint/s on. Thanks thus far, and thanks for asking, sharing etc...Glad to learn I wasn't alone...in similarity!
