The original Dorian Gray is a fictional character of Oscar Wilde's novel The Picture of Dorian Gray.
There have been numerous references to this character in poetry, plays, and music. There is even a UK performer who's stage name is Dorian Gray.
Research of a fictional character? well I think the original book is probably the best place to start... then if you wanted to you could use something like wikpedia to find other mentions of this character in literature/plays etc.

Just read the novel, The Picture of Doraan Gray. If you want more than that, find a good biography of the author, Oscar Wilde.
