Is there a Tigers fan that can admit that Kenny Rogers had pine tar on his hand and that it was cheating?

I'm from Michigan and am a huge Tigers fan. I viewed the video when he brought his hand to his mouth and blew into it. You can see the substance resting below his finger tips. I played it back in slow motion on my tevo and I regret to say that is slow motion you could see when he lifted his fingers from his palm the skin stuck to his fingers and then snapped back. It was obviously pin tar.

First of all, I am a Tiger fan. I think that the Tigers will take the series in game 6. Now, on to the issue of Rogers. I watched the game, seen the numerous camera angles of the left hand, and I agree that it sure looked like pine tar. If it was indeed pine tar, than that is cheating and the Tigers don't deserve the win last night. I am suprised that umps. didn't take a better look at his hand. La Russa should have made an issue out of it. If he was using tar, than he should have been pulled from the game.

The guy about me is hilarious. Thats a great observation, even after the first inning, he still pitched unbelievable. I suppose its just luck, huh?? Not really, you dont go 23 scoreless innings in this day and age without some skill involved. Especially pitching to a lineup in the Yankees that was suppose to be the greatest ever assembled. Also, if you are going to accuse him of cheating, you might as well go making a question about what should the MLB do about pitchers using pine tar or other foreign substances? I say that because a few of the analysts asked other pitchers from the Majors about it and one even said that 60 to 70 percent of pitchers use pine tar/other substance in a season or their career. Kenny Rogers is a great pitcher...with or without pine tar. If he was using it, shame on him for jeopardizing the integrity of the Tigers. They have earned this shot, and I would hate to see it cheapened by someone breaking the rules. I'm sure he won't do it again--if I were his teammate, I would kick his *** for doing something so stupid.

Well I'm a CARDINAL fan and yes he did have "pinetar" on his hand, he had the same "foreign substance" on his hand in the Division Series and League Championship Series.Also during the reg. season he does the same thing.Now that being said I would guess a majority of pitchers do something along those lines.You can BET your house he wont have that on his hand in game 6 then we will all see how good he pitches,I personally think that 41 year old man is running on fumes about now. The Cardinals hit alot of balls hard off him but just right at people.Cardinals in 7,like I've been saying all along.

If my name were Kenny Rogers I'd cheat too.

Baseball fans of any stripe shouldn't be mad at Kenny Rogers, they should be mad at the officials for not closely examining the substance and instead asking Kenny to wash it off and keep playing.

If he started pitching poorly after that, we'd know for sure he was cheating. But he didn't, so we're still unsure, all because the umps didn't do their jobs.
