if the placenta is bleeding, but no blood vaginally does this mean a miscarriage?

My daughter went to the emergency room and shes 10 weeks preg. the done a ultra sound and monitored the baby heartbeats at 169 which is normal...and the baby was moveing its lil arms and legs, the ultra sound tech said the baby looks fine, then the er dr comes in and tells her that her placenta is bleeding and either she will heal on her own or she will miscarry her baby, (I thought how unprofessional to tell someone that in that manor) but my daughter only cramps while standing up, im very worried and dont know what to beleive the er dr or the us???? she goes to the ob dr wed but wed seems like forever away....?

SHE NEEDS TO SEE HER OWN DR AND YES IM SURE THE ER DR GAVE YOU ACCURATE INFO, SHE SHOULD BE ON BED REST UNTIL A DR SAYS OTHERWISE AND WHILE IT MAY HAVE SOUNDED MEAN ITS THE TRUTH AND IM SURE THE DR ONLY MEANT TO GIVE YOU HONESTY NOT RUDENESS. WHATEVER IS SUPPOSE TO HAPPEN WILL HAPPEN AND NO ONE CAN PREDICT THE OUTCOME OR PREVENT IT. GOOD LUCK TO YOU BOTH AND MAY YOU HAVE A HEALTHY BABY!!!!

I'd try to get in to see the OB as soon as possible (at the very least, call and tell him/her about the situation for advice). Though the baby is fine now, it sounds like a threatened miscarriage. It's important she NOT stand up if it causes cramping. She needs to be on bed rest or she risks losing the baby. The placenta needs time to heal.

my best friend's placenta actually separated from the wall of her uterus and it caused bleeding internally. She was put on restricted work and no sex throughout the remainder of the pregnancy but delivered at full term. I'm sorry that the doctor was so unprofessional. That's so rude to tell a pregnant woman that way with the hormones and everything else already out of whack. I hope that everything turns out okay for your daughter.

No, a bleeding placenta doesn't not automatically mean miscarriage. ER doctors are not OBs. Make your daughter on pelvic rest (no standing, lieing down as much as possible). And see what her OB would say.

hmmm ok, screw the er dr and have her go to the obgyn. It she is at risk for miscarriage now, they could 've given her medicine to help her NOT miscarry. and to be on bed rest until they can detect the bleeding has stopped.

just tell her to keep resting, no heavy lifting, no aspirin, etc. wed. will soon be her and then you can find out for sure, good luck to you
