Ford makes the crown vic, and are the parent company of lincoln, mercury. they own part of mazda. Lincoln is Ford's "Luxury" brand, like cadillac to GM, acura to honda, lexus to Toyota, etc etc. very rarely nowadays can you label a car simply by its make, there are so many specific differences in the models that you need to figure the gas mileage, reliability, safety by the specific model you are looking at.

Its kinda wrong to say "lincolns" have bad gas mileage, its all relative. yeah, V8s in a lincoln will get worse mileage than a 4 cylinder civic....but that's a V8 vs a I4. compare a V6 lincoln to a V6 accord, and you'll get much closer numbers.

Crown Vics are made by Ford, and Lincoln is owned by Ford. As far as gas mileage, Crown Vics and Lincolns should get the same mileage. As far as I know, the newer ones share the same drivetrain.

My Dad always drove Crown Vic's or Mercury Grand Marquis. He always got at least 28 mpg on the highway. A friend of mine has an 04 Lincoln Town car and gets 28 mpg on the highway. I call that great, considering you can ride in comfort and safety, and put more luggage than you own in the trunk.

Crown Victoria is made by Ford. In my opinion, both cars are bad on gas. Look to buy a car with a smaller engine (or a Chevy) if you're looking to get a better MPG car.
