I recently replaced a windscreen on a Rover 214 although this was in the South of England. However, I only paid £80.00 and this included fitting. You should be able to find an independent windscreen repair service in your area that can match this price.

If u have windscreen cover should be 40 5o or 60 quid, if not go to your local rac autowindscreens and tell them you have been quoted around 140, they should do a price match or reduction , i used to fit for them and the managers of the fitting centres are hungry for work as they get a bonus on productivity...good luck.

About £250, if you are a member of the AA then you get a discount at one of the places - autowindscreen i think. Check the AA site.

£250-£300, more than the car is worth I reckon.

it will only fail if its part of the screen that the wipers go over. ask at your nearest car breakers, they will know someone who will fit a secondhand screen.
