    Iraq shares borders with :

    Kuwait and Saudi Arabia to the south,

    Jordan to the west,

    Syria to the northwest,

    Turkey to the north,

    and Iran to the east.

    It has a very narrow section of coastline at Umm Qasr on the Persian Gulf.
