REPITITION...they need to hear it and say it over and over again. You can also make a game out of it.
Get a big balloon and throw it amongst the children every time a child pops it in the air they have to say the next word of the Bible verse.
Every time they return to church for another service ask them to recite the verse, if they get it you can reward them (but nothing too fancy).

have you ever heard of JBQ (Junior Bible Quiz) or TBQ (Teen Bible Quiz)? it's a great thing i did as a child in my church. it's from the Assemblies of God. churches make teams of kids, and the kids quiz against each other. (they can quiz from teams within the church, or make matches with other churches) it can be a really positive experience for the kids. JBQ is memorizing question and answers, but TBQ is more challenging by memorizing entire books of the Bible. (that's why you have teams, because that's a lot for one kid to do.)
i hope i helped a little. Good luck!

Our kids love play acting so we always have a big box full of costumes and let them act it out. We also set the verses to music and have them sing it. Works great.

SING THEM!! Kids love to sing. If they remember the tune, they are more likely to remember them!
