What kind of glass paint is safe to use on dishes that will come into contact with food?

I've done a bit of decorative glass painting and would like to do a set of martini glasses and appetizer plates, but I don't know what kind of paint I should use. Even my non-toxic paints have a warning that says "do not use on surfaces that will come into contact with food."

Does anyone know a specific brand that is safe for this kind of project? Or maybe there is a protective glaze I don't know about...? Any help is appreciated!

Update:

I am looking for paint that is specifically for use on glass.

And unfortunately, just because a paint is non-toxic doesn't mean it is okay for items that come into contact with food. Unless the labels aren't entirely accurate...

(But thanks Nanners for the link for the ceramics paints! It might come in handy in the future.)

There are ceramic paints that are intended for this purpouse. You want to be sure to make sure that if you go to a retail store, such as Michael's, that you let them know what your intentions are and they can get you the right product.

I found this site, and they claim to have toxic free paint that is safe for ceramics, you might want to check them out.

    Use any paint labeled non-toxic.
