Do you think there is ever "really" gonna be an end of the world as stated in the book of Revelations?

I hear alot of christians denounce Islam due to the fact that Muhammed became a prophet after Jesus's crucifixion. Well, if this is the case then John of Patmos (author of Revelation) is in the same boat as Muhammed making Revelations a book of heretical teaching that shouldn't have ever been canonized because he wrote his "visions" while being banished to the island of Patmos after Jesus had been crucified. The writing was originally called the Apocalypse, which means "hidden meaning", just as the book of Daniel is an apocalyptic writing that refers to being captive in Babylon. He was banished by Nero who hated christians and it's no surprise that since the alphabet of his language has numeric value that the famous 666 can be decoded into "Nero". He sent his writings to the seven churches of Asia to be read by fellow christians. I think he was angry for being sent away and if he did have those dreams they were not prophetic at all. Look this stuff up before you answer please...

Every other "prediction" in the Bible came true exactly as it said it was. There is also one major difference between John and Muhammad. Nothing John wrote contradicted the Bible. Most of what Muhammad wrote does and one of the test of a prophet is that they can not be wrong in any area and they can not contradict what GOD has already declared.

We can see some of what John predicted coming true now. The Mark of the Beast is most likely a computer chip which can be inserted into the hand and we have them today. It would be a very small step to demand everyone have them and then to use them for all commercial events.

Also, many of the things John wrote about that many say are figurative describe modern day warfare which John talked about not having the knowledge of what Apache Helicopters or missiles coming in. I am sure John would have thought an incoming missile was a falling star.

it will happen...Just as John predicted...and it may be sooner then we expect. Are you ready? Get ready by checking the link below.

And where exactly to I cross reference the information? You ramble incoherently. How do I research your opinion that is not based on any known facts? It sounds like most of this crap is made up, except that the apostle John was imprisioned on Patmos, so the "John of Patmos" is the same John of earlier bible books. The numerical meanings in Revalation are clearly stated. Where you came up with "666" meaning Nero I have no Idea, and I have spent more time than most in Revalation.

And Christians denounce Islam because we do not believe the Qu ran to be inspired of God and we Believe that Jesus is the son of god, while Islamics believe that Jesus is only a prophet. This is abhorrent to most Christians, if not blasphemous.

For 2000 years some Christians in every single century have said the end of the world was going to come in their day. During the 1800's the Adventists devoted themselves to preaching the end was coming in the 1800's. If you look at doomsday cults they all have a string of failed predictions. During the last 100 years Jehovah's Witnesses have discussed over 30 dates that were later dropped as wrong, and have 5 books attempting to explain Revelation, each contradicting the previous one. Now they just resort to saying, "the end is about to happen"

Even in Revelation was truly prophetic, each religion has proven that they have no idea how to accurately interpret it.

If any of you took the time to read Revelations, you would find exactly what is taking place now, is what is mentioned there.

There are now 33 countries (and counting) which are at war or being invaded by those who would take over the country for their own use. The killing is rampant and wide spread. Genocide is not the unusual thing any more, as it is showing up around the globe..

There is one prophecy mentioned that states; "There will be wars and rumors of wars." All in our time. There is also reference to countries designated as the bear and the eagle.. Wonder how he knew of those?

A lot of questions for anyone not familiar with what is stated there.

No one denouces Muhammed because he was a prophet after Jesus, it's becuase he is by the definition given in the Bible a false prophet who said that Jesus was only a prophet and not the Son of God who shed his blood on a cross so that all who will believe on Him might be found justified in God's sight at the judgment.

As to your question about the world ending, here is what Peter wrote about this matter, probably from what Jesus had taught him before Jesus rose from the dead and went back to Heaven.

"This is now the second letter that I am writing to you, beloved. In both of them I am stirring up your sincere mind by way of reminder, that you should remember the predictions of the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles, knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires.

They will say, "Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation." For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished.

But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly. But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed. Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace. 2 Peter 3:1-14

I hope that the Lord's patience doesn't run out before you have the time to consider how you will appear before the Holy God of Heaven who demands perfect righteousness without the sacrifice of Jesus standing between you and his wrath.

It will happen, I am 100% sure about that, but not sure whether it will happen according to the Books of Revelation. Jesus Christ has mentioned about the end of the world in the Gopsel of Mathew, chapter 24.

"For many will come in my name, saying, I am Christ, and will mislead many, And many false prophets will arise, and will mislead many, And you will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end, For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes".

I believe the above mentioned words will tbe real reason for the end of our beautiful earth.

not as stated in the book of revelations the world has to end no doubt maybe in 100 yrs or maybe in 1.3 billion years ..... rocks like the ones that killed the dinousars are coming no doubt and we're not doing anything about polution :) give it a few yrs .. ice age overheating on earth and many things will come the earth will end but the question is WHEN?

  • 1 decade ago

I found out today that the world was going to end in 2028 cuz the Earth is going to be hit by a meteor and wipe us out....

If that doesn't happen... do I believe in the Apocalypse?

I think it could happen... Who knows? Who could really know for sure? You either believe it (by faith) or you don't believe it because there is no physical proof.

I'm a believer, so I don't think it's out of the realm of possibilities.
