Rosetta Stone. It's like playing a video game. It's fun and effective--and addictive!

None. Interest in languages imply interest (genuine) in people.
Want to learn Spanish without paying the fees? Mingle with Spanish speakers. Go to a Spanish speaking country (I'd suggest some South American one -i.e.. Colombia, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile - don't go to Central America or Spain, avoid Hispanics in North America: poor language quality). Get interested in Spanish and Latin American literature (this is great all across the board). Enjoy some of their emerging pop stars (careful, there's too much garbage out there in this sense). Go to the movies (mostly Mexican and Spanish, especially Pedro Almodovar's flicks)

Rosetta Stone is great but there is another program called The Pimsleur Approach which I really like because your lesson requires no writing and no text books. You simply listen to and repeat CD's and for only a half hour a day. It doesn't sound long but you get a lot out of it in that short time and can do it while driving to/from school or work.
Try www.pimsleur.com or www.pimleurapproach.com
Good luck!

You appear to be sincere and well motivated and you have a knack with languages and one year and most of the materials. Success is near at hand. Buena suerte.
