    I'm not sure, but the first one I remember is "The Real World: New York" with Eric Nies. That's the very first one I ever remember watching.

    It was on PBS in the 70's I cant remember the name of the family, but they were dysfunctional. The cameras followed them for a while. It got real high ratings.
