Who makes very well-insulated, warm, tasteful wool winter coats that don't look like duvets with sleeves?

Question

As usual, the winter coats choice is either a nice, stylish, wool/wool-blend thing with a classy colour and cut, or...something that looks like I took a sewing machine to what was on top of my bed.

Any suggestions for coat designers who _really_ insulate their tasteful wool stuff?

Hilary Radley is about my taste, but not always warm enough -- I'm Canadian, so look with lust at parkas suitable for inhabitants of actual igloos. (You know, all three of them.) But they're invariably about as fashionable as one would expect from the word "parka." I don't ski -- don't wear suits every day, either, but still don't want anything too casual. I'm trying to balance out tasteful and toasty.

Women's coats, yes -- but I'm not single, and he's Canadian, too, so, suggestions for well-insulated, well-tailored men's coats welcomed too.

If you actually own a sewing machine, there are some  great coat patterns out this season and you can make them as insulated as you wish.  Take a walk through a fabric store and see the tweeds, woolens, or fleeces that are for sale right now, really nice stuff.  Then you'd have a one of a kind, made to order coat.

I think a perfect fit for your taste would be Eddie Bauer.  Although often known as mostly an outerwear brand, much of the stylish and fashion details have been worked in to their modern products.  Plus, the history of quality of Eddie Bauer may cause you to pay a little more, but you'll have a coat to last you seasons upon seasons.  See the link below for one I think is too cute!

I actually bought my gray wool coat from Victoria's Secret and not only is it stylish but has lasted me a long time and very warm...very warm...
