Can I write to a CD-R disk from the CD-RW device?

I just want to write an .iso file to a disk. I have a device that claimes to be Compact Disk Rewritable, but when I go to stores, only the CD-Rs seem to be in stock (plus they are less expensive). Can I just use those, or find some s/w that will allow me to use those? Thanks.

To put things as simple as possible without complicated explanations:

    Yes, once, but not twice.

Uless you use a felt tip marker.

CD-RW device will copy to a CD-R. No probs.

You do not see CD-RW in good quantities because they are reusable and they sometimes sell as a 10-pack only. Large stacks, in the 100's are CD-Rs.

They are so cheap, that I use Cd R a lot - with absolute abandon.

Sure if you can burn CD RW you can burn CD R , the only difference is that a CD RW can be erased and a CDR cant, i have yet to see a drive that burns only one format, so go get some CD Rs and enjoy burning,

it quite is not your force's fault, it is your DVD/CD-RW utility's fault. DVD&CD-RW disc's are meant for use on the gadget they have been written from. except it became precisely the comparable utility that wrote it, it generally can not study it. working example, I even have 2 diverse variations of Nero, and that they could't study one yet another's disc's, even nevertheless they're basically one version aside (one's ver.5, one's ver.6). Now, if it can not study CD-R's/DVD-R's that have been finalized, then there is a few thing incorrect with the force.

Yes you can, CDRs are for one time use and CDRW are for multiple usage. in CDRW u can even delete the written matter where as in CDRs you cannot remove once writen. In CDRs you can only appen data, if the session while writing the CD is left open.
