Turn off system restore before performing the steps mentioned below

to turn off system right click My Computer -> Properties

in properties window click the System restore tab and turn it off

Then see if you have the Yahoo toolbar installed, if it is and it is not showing in Internet Explorer the go to View -> Toolbars -> Yahoo

and then on the Y! toolbar use the antispyware provided it will start checking for updates and all and take sometime depending on your connection.

and remove all spyware adware it finds

and then download the following programs (these are free and reliable)

Ad-Aware SE Personal from www.lavasoft.com

Spybot Search & Destroy from ... google for it ok :D

then SmitRem program, google for it also

and last one ewido anti malware

then update these software and reboot in safe mode

and run the scan using these programs and delete all that it finds

this whole process will take about 1-2 hrs to come through

It is better to have a computer literate person with you while you carry out these steps.

Orrrrrr just download firfox instead of the weak IE from microsoft.I ahve been using Firefox for over 2 years now no issues yet.Just btw google up stumble upon after u download firfox.Do let me know if this helped

If you have WIndows XP: First thing I would do is a System Restore and put your pc back to a state it was in prior to the problem. You do this from [Start]->[Programs]->[Accessories]-[System Tools]-[System Restore].

It'll show you a calendar and you can pick a date that was prior to the issue. It should undo the home page problem.

Often nowadays, Internet Explorer is affected by "adware" or "spyware" which is not technically a virus (so won't be detected by anti-virus software) but can be just as annoying.

Try using a spyware removal program like the free one from Adware:

You also may try SpyBot or Ad-Aware, they have both done me good as a System Administrator when trying to remove "unitentional" software...

Again as it's been said already, it looks like you've been infected with spyware/malware (http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/s/spyware.html) and not a virus (http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/v/virus.html).

Try other browsers! There are firefox, netscape, opera, there's plenty of them to try. Btw, if u can't do anything in the internet, how do you log on here?
