SERIOUS answers ONLY from Nigerian Muslims...PLEASE!!!?

I just came from Jummah prayer, and a Muslim Nigerian brother has passed, and I completed the Janaza for him. Now, I need to go to the home of the wife and family, and have no *CLUE* as to what food I should bring. PLEASE HELP ME! ANY recipe that you can think of, HELP HELP HELP!!! I have only a few hours!!!

Update:

this *ISNT* racist, as I am an american, and going to a funeral wake for a NIGERIAN, all you dumb@sses that feel excluded, then if you have knowledge of nigerians, FEEL FREE TO ANSWER...

Update 2:

I would prefer something REALLY simple, maybe a sweet? Or could I take a store bought cake? Would that seem uncaring and tacky? I love these people and would hate to make them think of me not being there with them, versus being in a kitchen slaving over something for hours, and then I would miss being with them, and isnt that the whole point?

    1. boil your beef or chicken

    1. blend about 5 tomatoes and half an onion( or half a can of tomato paste/puree

    2. heat about 5 tablespoons of vegetable/groundnut/canola oil in a pot.

    3. when it's still heating put in few slices of onion.]

    4. when it gets so hot, that it starts splashing, pour in the blended tomatoes and pepper(or the tomato paste or puree)

    5. cover it for about 15 minutes(stirring occasionally and if it's drying up pour in meat or chicken stock/broth)

    6. wash the rice, and pour it into the tomato paste after d 15 minutes is up.

    7. add salt to taste, some dried pepper, curry, thyme,(about 1/2 teaspoon)

    8. pour in you chicken broth and cover it

    9. leave it on, until the rice is soft/cooked. and the water is all dried up, then you stir it, so that the tomato paste is evenly distributed.

    10. serve w/ d chicken or beef. however way u wanna prepare those ones.
