Why does Yahoo! Answers spell-checker choke on long answers? I would think that more detail is generally good?

It hangs on long answers. The little circle thing will circle forever until you hit cancel. Does anybody have a work-around for this?

Haven't tested how long "long" is but it seems to happen regularly at a certain size - it may have just worked OK a couple of sentences ago.

Update:

No I have DSL.

Don't have MS-WORD (I use Workperfect)

but there are several spell-checkers I could use I could use.

Yes, it's a very bad spell-checker.

DSL is not even in there.

I imagine "google" not in there either... Although the verb - as in "I need to google that." has been officially added to many - if not most - of the dictionaries.

And, although it highlights words it doesn't like, there's no spell-check when you're adding details to a questions either!

    Copy that:

It happens to me sometimes. I just cut the answer to the clipboard and paste it into MS Word. In Word I can finish the answer, check spelling, get some grammar help and see the whole answer at one time. Then another cut and paste back to answers and all is complete. I am practiced at it so it isn't even a pain anymore. You might want to give it a try; after two or three times it is almost automatic.

    Good luck

Thanks for the heads up, Jon. This is actually a known issue, though, and we're working to get a fix in.

I have the same problem and it really tics me off. You would think that they could fix it.
