hi guys i am 17 and I live in california and i got a speeding ticket and I want to fight it in court. if i do, do i give up the right for traffic school?

No. The traffic school option is something you do after you have paid the ticket. It doesn't even come up in court. You can go any time to take tickets off your record. Most likely you won't win fighting a ticket though unless the cop who issued it doesn't show up.

Good luck fighting it in court. I don't want to dissapoint you, but it will be hard to win. I think you should just pay for the ticket, and then go to traffic school so that it doesn't show up in your record.

I guess that's what i have heard that if you fight a ticket you loose the right to go to a traffic school. but i think you should check up by calling you local police station. or the county clerk in the area where you want to fight the ticket. Other wise...get the book "HOW TO FIGHT A TICKET" ;)
