30 grams of fat, that's a two day supply in one meal. I usually grab coffee and some peanuts to snack on, mornings are special K cereal, lunch is cherrio's, every convenience store now carries the cereal on the rack, it's much healthier, dinner is a well balanced low fat meal with lots of veggies, sound boring ? I lost 62 lbs in 6 months eating like this, I caught a woman checking me out in a store the other day, she just smiled, I cracked up at myself, IT WAS FAR FROM BORING ! LOL !

You know what, I had the same problem, only with SUGAR! I didn't even know I really had a problem because I am skinny. I only realized the problem when I had the most atrocious abcessed tooth.

I thought that I would die, and as a result of house guests, and complications, it took more than two weeks before I could have it properly fixed. Seriously, it was bad.

Anyway, during all of that time of being sick, and by the way, a very bad tooth feels sugar as pain, I couldn't eat any sugar. After the tooth was fixed, I still couldn't eat any sugar because of the remembered pain.

After a few weeks of not having it, the sweet/junky foods tasted bad. In fact they tasted toxic. I think it would be the same for fast food.

If you can make a goal of not eating any fast food for 2 weeks, then plan to have one of your big baddies, you may find that you have lost your taste for them.

Good luck, I hope it doesn't take incredible pain for you to find your way out (at least you know about it now).

many people find it hard to break fast food if they have been eating it a while. it is especially hard if you were fed it as a kid by your parents, like if you were raised on it. it has very addictive additives and is usually pretty tasty, and it's cheap!

    time-

when time is a concern, all you can really do is try to plan ahead. i know that is hard sometimes/most of the time but it really helps.

    options-

there are many healthier snacks and meals you can get form the store. if there is a trader joe's around you they offer many different sandwiches and salads, pre-made and ready to eat. if you want a hot meal grocery stores usually have the heated food area at the produce counter.

sometimes you can find decent stuff at fast food places since a lot of them do "healthy" now. most places have nutrition facts online which is really helpful. you can see in advance what is okay for you to eat based on your standards. then anytime you go there you can not feel guilty about eating the food at those places. as long as the item(s) is not too starchy (fries, ketchup, deep fried meats/fish, etc.) starches are the worst, they have the most calories and carbs, AND they make you feel like crap after eating them.

i try to get bunless, grilled chicken sandwiches (carls jr. is good) and a side salad, or even a soup or something, if that is offered. basically, it is pretty hard to avoid fast food if you're in a hurry and didn't plan ahead.

    good luck!

They say it takes 21 days to create a new habit. "Real" food may not taste so good to you since you have been eating all of that food that has a lot of chemicals in it. However, if you will try, soon your taste buds will adjust. Also, you will feel so much better when you eat better. True, it takes more planning... but it is so worth the effort. Good luck!

its really good that u want to be conscious about ur health. try reading the bad effects of eating fast food....if possible see crappy pictures of things related to it so that whenever u try to eat fast food u r reminded of the negative side. its really ur determination that is gonna drive u through.. u can always pack some homemade stuffs when u go out...i guess they r not very harmful. BEST OF LUCK.

it is very hard but its a slow process and takes time but first you must try to limit the number of times you go to the fastfood and if you do go, try to eat as little as possible....

when you eat try eating six small servings every day...just enough to keep you going the whole day and you can try snacking on fruits or nuts rather than chips when you are on the go....

Read a book called Fast Food Nation, it'll get you off that stuff, probably even for good.
