Win 2000 How do I change Start up programs?

On Win 98 I could type in msconfig. in the run box and get a list of all programs that start up when I turn the computer on. How do I do that in Win 2000? thanks

For some reason it doesn't come w/ the Win2K OS. You have to download it. You can find it here: http://www.perfectdrivers.com/howto/msconfig.html

    Hi,

Try SystemMechanic tool , it gives you a list of programs that start up when your windows boots..

Here you can view & even disable & delete the start up programs..this is safe to use as a invalid entry directly in the .ini files can harm other programs also..

Try even a older version of system mechanic..it will do the job for you ..you can even add a new program to start up.

Source(s): google..for downloading older version of system mechanic.. current version of SM is 6.0...SM 5.0 will do the job for you..
