What do you think about drinking V8?

I usually forget about getting my full serving of vegtables a day, so my friend suggested I start drinking a can of V8 a day. Is that stuff really good for you? Any nutrionists out there that know of the benefits of drinking V8? Thanks!

Update:

FYI-I bought the "Low Sodium" V8. The cans I bought say 80mg of Sodium which says it has 70% less sodium that regular V8. I don't know if that is good or not.

In an 8 oz serving of v8 you get 2 full servings of vegetables. The spicy one tastes great. you can also heat it and use it like tomato soup with a "grilled" cheese (toast bread in toaster add a slice of cheese" no butter so it is healthier for you then you have 2 servings of grain 1 serving of dairy and 2 veggie servings, for a great lunch.

Drinking meals or substitues are less good for your health than simply eating fruits and vegitables. Drinks add a lot of sugar and sodium to your diet and can actually be bad for your health in large quantities. My mother drank an entire pint in one day and ended up going to the hospital from flash pulminary edima. (I think that's how you spell it.) The doctors said the salt from the V8 pushed her over the edge. My advice is to eat a salad full of vegitables if you're looking for nutrients.

"One 8-ounce serving provides two full servings of vegetables, a good source of potassium, two grams of fiber, and antioxidants like lycopene and vitamins A and C." (www.foodingredientsfirst.com) There is a lot of sodium in V8, but there is a lower sodium one available.....so if that is a concern to you, I think you would be better off trying to eat your veggies or getting a juicer and making your own veggie/fruit juice.

I love V8, it is great. It is definitely good for you. The mixed V8 with fruits is very delicious.

Yes, I absolutely love V8. I love vegetables to begin with; so, vegetable juice is good too.

I am not a nutritionist, and V-8 has good stuff in it. Check the ingredients and see how much sugar (carbohydrate) it has in it and/or sodium.

I don't drink it because it is mainly carrot juice - which is high in natural sugar - and I am a diabetic.

while veggie juice is good, v8 is PACKED with sodium!

I like V-8, its really good if you put a splash of Tabasco sauce in it.

The V-8 Splash is really good too & it comes in diet.

I drink it. I can't stand the original V8, but the new fusion flavors are really good.

The original V8 vegetable juice is beyond gross. try one of the new fruit juices.
