Will the democrats 'code of silence' backfire?

When it comes to the police having a code of silence the libs always oppose (so do I) but now they are using the same tactic regarding the election. Will this work for them or will they be shooting themselves in the foot? Can a party win an election by NOT telling people what they stand for or what ideas they have (if any)?

No. And for the most part, we are only seeing the advertising that is the most controversial. There is an element in the Democratic party, that is trying to keep them from slinging mud and sticking to the issues. Look at the Ford ad, where the Republicans implied that he was a philandering person. If you watch the debates on c-span, then you will see the Republicans slinging more mud, trying to put the Democrats on the defensive, but it is not working. there was one debate that I saw, where the Republican incumbent said that his party voted against amnesty for illegal immigration, but then the Democratic candidate pointed out that the incumbent Republican was not there for the vote. The next day, the Republican blogs were saying that the Democratic candidate was just being ugly, and distorted the facts, yet the Republican incumbent would not comment on it when he was asked about it. The Democratic Party has shown restraint by not exploiting the Foley incidents and not saying anything about Jim Kolbe coming out of the closet.

They are hoping it won't. Just look at past elections to see the results of what happens when they do speak their mind (or the mind of their grand and glorious leader - name slips me at the moment). The grand message this year is not "Vote for me, here's what I believe." but rather "Vote for me, I'm not Bush."

  • There is a chance that it will back fire. It is very sad one sides policies are horrendous and hasn't been working, and the other side has no policy at all.
