OK, I have a tough one for you. Take a listen, tell me the title of the piece if it is a real piece.?
We have all heard this, in fact we have heard it in Looney Toons cartoons for years. You will know the piece, but maybe you know more than I. It is tentively name "Powerhouse" but I am sure that is not the real title. Also, it is not Merry-Go-Round Broke-Down.

It is a real song, and it is called "Powerhouse" - composed by American composer Raymond Scott.
"By 1960, Raymond Scott had become an anonymous composer of advertising jingles and the recordings of the Raymond Scott Quintette were no longer available to the public. Only fragments of his music could still be heard, although their use was uncredited, in one hundred and seventeen of the cartoons produced by the Warner Brothers Studios between 1943 and 1962. Of these fragments, eight notes stand out: the piano riff at the beginning of the second section of the song ‘Powerhouse’."

Raymond Scott was the original composer, but the version heard in Looney Tunes was done by Carl Stalling. The band Rush also used that section in the song "La Villa Strangiato" on their album Hemispheres.
