How do I delete network connection & start up password popup?
I was given my old company laptop for my personal use. I would like to delete the company network files including the connection iles because the network connection is now defunct (to a work network) and I eventually want to set up a connection to my home network? How can I do this.
I also want to eliminate the log-on with password pop up that comes on every time. How do I do this.
I am not computer literate
I want to delete everything about the network not just disable. I have all the software and license.

By saying the password pop up i hope you mean the initial log on. (You press ctrl alt del)
You need to demote that computer to a workgroup. If it was on your companies network. To do this you have to have administrative rights. Log in to that machine, right click on My Computer and go to properties. Computer Name.
You will see Network Identification and a place at the bottom that should have the name of your companies network. Click on workgroup and you can put WORK or whatever you want there.
Im assuming you have Windows XP Pro
Click start, Control Panel

and there should be in one of those tabs Secure Logon. Uncheck the requirement of ctrl al del
