I'm interested in learning how to find finger prints off of objects. What supplies to I need to be able to do this? Also, I'd like to make cast imprints of teeth, feet, and hands. What do I need to do this? Any help would greatly be appreciated. I'll reward best answer 5 stars and 10 points! Thanks for your help!

Hi, to keep it simple from things from your home. Use the wife's powder make-up brush, and lightly brush some flour over a print till you can make out a print. Have a piece of black paper handy. Get some clear Scotch tape as and gently cover the print with the sticky side of the tape to left the print. Very gently peal off the tape from object....say a glass. Then attach the sticky side of the tape on the black paper....presto...and white print on a black background. Graphite powder works well also. You would use white paper to transfer the print is all.

Then go to a sporting goods store and buy a sports mouths protector. The kind that you heat-up in boiling water for a few minutes, then it cools for a few minutes and you put it in your mouth positioned over your teeth. And bite down. It leaves a nice impression. remove the mouth guard. Mix some plaster-paris in a mold surrounding the mouth guard and pour it in...covering the imprint. When dry....gently pry out the guard and there's your imprint.

You could look up police or law enforcement supplies on the internet. You could try Galls, I know they have a website, and search for an ID kit. The supplies you will need are, finger print dust and brush, fingerprint card, and fingerprint tape. Additionally, you will need some training on how to properly locate, and lift prints. Depending on what type of material you find prints on depends on the type of dust you use to lift it. Most importantly you will need someone who knows how to interpret prints. I don't know about cast imprints of teeth though. Police usuallly don't do that, maybe a dentist could help you.

Just remember, this is real life, not CSI. Getting prints is not always as easy as TV makes it look. Also, to get a fingerprint match seems to take a miracle.

To find fingerprints you need fingerprint powder

and a dusting brush. Black fingerprint powder is made up of graphite and rosin. Also an iodine

fuming kit will bring up fingerprints on paper and

other objects. Cast imprints can be made with

plaster paris. A Police supply store carrys these items. There are also sprays that can bring up fingerprints.

The easiest way to find finger prints ( if they aren't too old) is:

Get some really well powdered chalk, splash it slowly over the place, blow very lightly to remove the excess chalk from the place. than get some selotape, press it gently over the finger print, press to leave an imprint, unstick the selotape and stick it on a black sheet of paper.
