Is person B more moral / ethical than person A?
Person A does not care about money, although he is in debt, anyone who asks of him, he will give. He will give his last 5 dollars to a begger on the street, even though he can not eat for the week. This person also has a difficult time to charge people for business services, often works for free. Although he tries very hard to pay his bills, falls short and his credit suffers. Yet, If anyone owes him and cant pay, the debt is removed and the invidual never brings it up.
OR
Person B. Person b holds money in high regard When out and about, when ever any one asks of him/her , this individuals says NO, I am sorry I can not help you, even though they can. Anyone who borrows from them, they will hound to pay them back. And,they charge people high cost, even though they know others can not afford to pay them. This individual is well off and thinks he is more moral than person A because he is able to meet his debt obligations.
Is this true, and should person A change to be like B?
These are all excellent answers. I wanted to add, what if person A understands that he must fulfill his obligations but finds himself having no other choice then to be cold, selfish and greedy. Given that time and money cant possibly be for the world or for self, chooses self. While he pays his bills now, this person has lost his generosity, his heart, his complete lack of care for money.
So what you are saying is that everyone of the millions of americans who filed bankruptcy are not as ethical as a person
who overcharges and exploits the needy for gain? And, you are also saying that any person who just pays interest on their credit cards are liars, because they can not pay back that debt? Interesting point of view.

our society values money too much.
we care more about $20 then an hour of good care for our children.
person A is a better person, but he needs to care about himself as well as others.

It is wonderful to help other, but one should make sure that he can take care of himself before he takes care of others. Person B has the right to use his money as he sees fit. He is more moral than person A because he pays his debts. When you give your word to pay back a loan and you fail to do so, you are a liar. Also, it sounds like there are a lot of beggars where you are from. Noone is obligated to give just because someone is there with their hand out.

Person A is more moral.... more generous, more concerned with the welfare of others even if it means his own welfare suffers. But he lacks ethics to a point, because he's willing to let legal obligations such as credit agreements fall behind in order to meet his moral values..
Person B is more ethical, because he's more concerned with fulfilling official, legal, binding agreements. But he's less moral, because he's selfish, not concerned with the the welfare of others, and only worries about his own money and credit rating.
A happy medium is what's needed, but it doesn't usually work that way.

Ethics is about daily behaviour, sometimes utopic behaviour, anyone could be in person A or B situation in different moments in time, ethics has to do with personal values and one of them should be to center the energy on the individual and then to seek good on other´s.
Morality comes from the root moris, morus (morada) means tradition, comes from the family, those values such as honesty etc are seen as desirable, as good inside that context, but values change with time, culture and context. For some people money is above power for others power, for others God or religion are above money, etc. It is about hierarchy.
It is not possible to define who is more ethical and who is not, because we need to analyze the person conscience, age, mind, background too...one person who ignores the rules who doesnt listen to other´s wont react the same way as that person who has more data, more knowledge about situations in order to preven failure.

Idon't think it is about moral, and ethics, but maturity, and self-worth
Both persons give if they want to, and if they can. Maybe person B doesn't give money but volunteers time. Person A should not incurr in debt if he can't pay it back. And if he knows he owes money, he should not give it out to the needy, and that is disrespecting his creditors.

I would say that person A maybe more moral or ethical, but not by much. Just sounds like 2 people that take totally different approaches to life. They value different things totally.

One isn't any better than the other. Person A does not take care of his responsibilities, and Person B does not take care of anyone but himself. As usual, the best place is somewhere in the middle.

Person B. Person A, by not paying his bills, is stealing from his creditors. Is stealing from one person (even to give to another) ethical? No. He needs to pay back the people -he's- borrowed from before he lets other borrow from him.

Person A has a good heart, but no business sense.
Person B has great business sense, but a steel heart.
Neither has anything to do with ethics or morality.

There is a middle ground, but I would prefer to be person B because I like to take responsibility for myself
