What is the furtherest country / city from Jerusalem?

I am curious as Jesus Christ said to preach the Word till the ends of the world. I know we should not take it literally, but I am very interested to know where is the furtherest place from Jerusalem.

To the nearest degree, Jerusalem is at 32 degrees North latitude, and 35 degrees East longitude. The farthest point from there will be at 32 degrees South latitude and 155 degrees West longitude (180-35). That place just so happens to be smack dab in the middle of the South Pacific.

    Jerusalem is at:

    31° 47' N,

    35° 13' E.

The antipode of Jerusalem would be at

    31° 47' S latitude, and

    35° 13' East of 180°, or

    144° 47' W.

That would put it due east of Australia, and south of the midpoint between the Cook and Pitcairn islands. Since the Earth's surface is 75% water, most land locations are opposite water locations.

    It's "furthest" not "furtherest"

To find out what the furthest city from Jerusalem is, locate Jerusalem on a globe and find the closest city that is at the exact same point on the opposite side of the globe. Voila! You will have the location you desire.

A little work with arithmetic and a map will give you the answer, which is roughly Easter Island in the south Pacific ocean.
