1. Diamonds and graphite are a form of carbon.
2. Ammonia is made using the Haber process.
Look here for details
http://www.ausetute.com.au/haberpro.html
It is used as a fertilizer, explosives, chemicals
3. Ozone in the upper atmosphere act as a filter for UV rays, which are harmful to life.
4. Halogens have an outer orbital that will be filled if they add one electron
5. Noble gases have an outer orbital that is completelly filled.

Diamonds and graphite are two forms of carbon. Carbon occurs in all organic life and forms the hardest natural substance known to man (diamond) as well as one of the softest (graphite).
Ammonia is made up of 1 nitrogen and 3 hydrogens. It is a toxic gas with a very noticeable smell. Ammonia is mainly used in fertilizers and can also be used in explosives and polymers.
Ozone is an important form of oxygen because it is found in the Earth's atmosphere and helps to block harmful UV rays from the Sun. These UV rays can cause skin cancer.
The halogens require one more electron to fill their outer electron shells, and have a tendency to form a singly-charged negative ion.
Noble gases have full valence electron shells. They are very stable and do not form chemical bonds.

Diamond and graphite are two forms of carbon.
Ammonia is made of nitrogen and hydrogen. It is used as fertilizer and is important in plant biochemistry.
Ozone is molecule of three oxygen atoms. It is important because it forms a layer in the atmosphere that helps filter out harmful rays from the sun.
Halogens all have seven valence electrons and exist as diatoms (they exist as two molecules together).
Noble gases all have eight valence electrons and are inert (will not readily react).

1 ammonia molecule made of 1 atom Nitrogen and 3 atoms Hydrogen.
Ozone keeps out harmful radation (uv not sure from sun)
halogens have 7 elctrons in outer most shell and molecules have two of each atom e.g. Cl2, I2 Br2
noble gases have 8 electrons in outer most shell and exist as 1 atom in gaseous form i.e. don't form molecules

diamonds and graphite are forms of carbon. Ammonia is a compound of Nitrogen and Hydogen NH3. Ozone filters out the shorter wavelengths of ultraviolet light that would be harmful to most forms of life.
