I too suffer from insomnia. The things that I have found helpful are.....no caffeine past 4:00 pm. Limit fluids past 7:00 pm. Avoid acidy or spicey foods in the evening. Stay on schedule....make a definite bed time and wake time and stick to it (especially during the week). No napping...no matter how tired you get during the day. avoid exercises in the evening. No late night snacks. I purchased a sound machine which helped me zone out (as I have an issue with not being able to turn off my thinking when trying to sleep. It was inexpensive $25.00 at walmart. It has several options such as rain, water fall, woods, ocean tide, and heartbeat. I like the Ocean option as I can just let it take me away to a sandy beach and I relax my self to sleep. Good luck....you may not get your results the first night....but it won't take long. sweet dreams!

Although people go thru exciting times in their young lives, if what you are experiencing bothers you then you must find the cause and solve it. The resolution from computer screens and above lights can cause a person who has a tendency toward epilepsy to have problems as those things affect the brain, and as I understand it epilepsy affects more males. Or, maybe your screen is too bright or the lighting around you is glaring on the screen, or the light comes in from in front of you instead of from behind you. So whatever, if any, of those things affect you you need to change them. It's suggested that people who work on computers get glasses that protect from the UV rays. (that is a coating that scratches easily so you have to be kind to those glasses if you get a pair, because any scratch can let air in and then you won't see well as they will fog up).

I'm thinking not sleeping well could be caused from the strain, or too much strain (I get that when I work long hours on genealogy research), and you have to limit your time on the computer or make sure you take adequate breaks to rest your eyes. Believe it or not but when eyes don't see right it affects the brain, it may even make you start falling and you won't know why...it's the vision.

Maybe you're drinking too much caffeine which keeps you from getting to sleep, so limit that, and for sure limit that before you go to sleep. Also make sure you do not have a tv or computer in your bedroom, and don't sleep with a radio too close to you.

Drink warm milk before you go to sleep, and start out to sleep earlier than you do so that even if you have a hard time getting to sleep that you will still have the 8 hours of good sleep that you need.

I used to use hypnosis tapes, and from the start you have to play them several times before your psyche gets used to them. But then you will find you will start to sleep as soon as you hear the first few words. Sometimes when you're really wound up you'll need to play them 3 times before you finally konk out. I have also made myself a black mask to darken my room more, and I've put up dark curtains, and cut out all noise. You can also pray right before you try to sleep, asking for a good night's rest. You can talk yourself to sleep from the toes to the head. Make sure your mattress is comfortable (not too hot), etc.

A really good problem. you are not the only one. Medication is defintely not the answer you shou should start by staying up all night. Then you will be tired. I find I only sleep if I am really tired and will just do things I normally do. Maybe go to the Gym a couple times just to exert yourself. You may not be physically tired untill you do that

giggle a colodopin, syraquil, xanex. they are all sleep aids. can't obtain any prescription drugs? don't have a chum to sell them to you, can't stay with your self stealing stuff so as which you would be able to decelerate your sleep debt? bypass purchase some benadryl or melatonin. Melatonin is a nonaddictive sleep help that I used to take earlier i stumbled on all those different pills. you would be genuine drained after approximately 20 minutes from taking it and you will no longer additionally be drowsy interior the morning. it particularly is a snooze help, yet if you're taking it for a week or 2, your physique is going right into a organic sound asleep time table and you will finally end up going to sleep with out issue with out even having to pop any pills. in case you nevertheless deny the little pill, no count how organic it particularly is on your physique (melatonin is the chemical your recommendations produces certainly to bring about sleep), purely attempt chilling out to a pair uncomplicated track and laying down in a depressing room. in some cases I purely settle directly to no longer open my eyes or flow lots till morning and that i stumble on that sleep comes rather. in case you nevertheless prefer that sense of protection, attempt sound asleep with a dogs, cat, or possibly a snake! happy aims (:

Warm bath or shower, glass (or bottle -lol) of wine.

Relaxation cd- rainforests, waterfalls etc. I used to have terrible insomnia. These things helped a lot. 1 tylenol pm was also helpful (probably not good to take with the wine though....) Dont watch TV in bed either

    Good luck

I'm having a similar problem and I'm fourteen!

Well it's best to be relaxed before you go to bed. Don't stay up watching TV or doing last-minute work. Take a long bath to help you unwind. Apparently eating bananas and drinking milk before you sleep can help ease you to sleep. Be calm, relaxed and don't think about your problems.

    Hope this is useful

Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical

problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed

daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be

cured. I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/jfzpz useful

    for getting sleep.

-Don't drink any carbonated beverages, coffee, or tea for at least 4 hours before bedtime.

-Don't sit in front of a computer at least 2 hours before bedtime. If you shower or bathe at night, now is the time to do it.

-Don't sit in front of television at least 1 hour before bedtime.

-Read a novel or perhaps a tech manual sitting in a chair up to bedtime.

    - Stretch your muscles just before retiring.

Try reading before bed. It not only focuses your mind but it's relaxing if you let yourself fall into the story. My boyfriend does this and he had your same problem.
