What is it that you say after Allah as a sign of respect as you would say "peace be upon him" after Mohammed?

And is it offensive in the eyes of Islam for a non-muslim to say it?

Also, what is the correct response to Assalam a Lakam (excuse the awful spelling, I don't speak arabic)

Whenever one mentions Allah, one usually says Subhanahu Wata'ala which means Praise and Glory be to Him.

It is not offensive for non Muslims to say Subhanhu Wataala because whoever says it is praising God.

The response should be Walaikum Al Salam which is translated to peace be with you.

The correct response to Assalam Alaikom is wa alaikom assalam wa rahmatu Allah wa barakatoh. And as the above answer told ,it means(peace be upon you and Allah,s mercy and His blessings)

Allah deserves more than mere respect. We say: The Most Graceful, Most Merciful.

If God was not merciful, He will wipe most of us off the face of the earth, for our sins, instead He is giving us time to repent.

It is not offensive for non-Muslims to say it. Allah is the One and Only God, Creator of all mankind, He is not our God only!!

Your greetings is: Assalam alaikum (peace be upon you)

We reply: wa alaikum asslam wa rahmet Allah wa barakatuh (and Allah's peace is upon you too, plus His mercy and grace)

Short one is: wa alaikum assalam.

    The longer one is better.

when someone say Al Salamo alaikom, we say wa alaikom al salam OR wa alaikom al salam wa rahmat allah wa barakato (if its hard for u , use the first one)

After Allah's name we say one of two things

Allah sobhanaho wa ta'ala OR Allah Azza wa Gal

and sweetie its never offensive to see someone respecting Allah.

he is not only our (Muslims) God, he is the one and only God of everyone and every creature.

    God bless u gal:)
