You need to have the tanks flushed by a mechanic, then go out and buy locking gas caps so it doesn't happen again!

To the best of my knowledge (37 years of it), there is no hope for those cars if you drove them. The sugar Will crystalize in the motor from the extensive heat and you will NOT be able to remove it just by "cleaning or flushing" the motors. You should contact your insurance company and see if vandalism is covered under your policies. In most cases it is, you'll need to file a police report for both incidents though, it will be required. Then, as a suggestion, like peviously stated, I would HIGHLY recommend purchasing a LOCKING gas cap. A wise investment after something like this happens...I know from experience!!! Good Luck to you :)

In most cases the entire fuel system will have to be flushed clean. Most likely the fuel tank will have to removed & cleaned, the fuel filter replaced & the injectors cleaned. Check with your mechanic before you do anything. Depending on the amount of contamination he may suggest to replace the filter only & add Injector cleaner to the existing fuel. Get some expert advice first if it isn't available here.

sugar isnt going to hurt your engine at all. Its a myth. But the sugar will collect at the bottom of the tank and possibly clog your fuel filter or injectors. I would bring it to a garage and tell them to drain and clean the gas tank.

You have serious and very expensive problems on your hands! I suggest you find the culprit with the assistance of police and then "HANG" the loser! Yes, sugar will hurt your engine because it crystalizes and therefore NOT a myth as previously stated!

Take it to a mechanic shop. They have to flush it clean or replace the entire part.
