Has anyone ever tried lighting denatured alcohol to make a smokeless, beautiful fire?

I have tried this with isopropyl alcohol and salt and it works safely and perfectly, but I am in Germany where isopropyl alcohol is expensive and "Brennspiritus" (94% denatured ethanol) is cheap. Any experience out there? I plan to pour it into a bowl, pour some salt in it and light it. Anyone ever do this?

Wow - be careful. Denatured alcohol is to remove paint! Also, the fumes from it are very toxic and can burn your nasal membranes. I don't think it's something you want to do inside. It's highly flammable.
