Boy, Y'all Americans really turn your political contests into a hate-fest, don't you? Why is that?

IMHO, you guys really seem to take it up a notch beyond most Western democracies. The Bush hating really seems a little unseemly from this outsiders perspective. Over here I'd have to say we usually don't really like the guys on any of the sides all that much. While there are differences, don't we all get a lot of the same no matter who you vote in?

Update:

Well, what a reasonable bunch (mostly) you are compared to the screamers and haters on much of the politics board.

LOL, I love it that one whacko conspiracy guy jumped in:

"Diebold and Triad machines have been systematically programmed in many southern states and other places to sometimes double the republican vote, or after a certain number of democratic votes, to switch them to the Repulsive Party nominee. Congress here is a fallacy, and the state of the world is terrible because of the fascists in power now."

REALLY? Wow.

Update 2:

That conspiracy guy reminds me of Stuart Mackenzie, the crazy Scotsman father in Mike Myers' "So I Married an Axe Murderer"

Stuart Mackenzie: Well, it's a well known fact, Sunny Jim, that there's a secret society of the five wealthiest people in the world, known as The Pentavirate, who run everything in the world, including the newspapers, and meet tri-annually at a secret country mansion in Colorado, known as The Meadows.

Tony Giardino: So who's in this Pentavirate?

Stuart Mackenzie: The Queen, The Vatican, The Gettys, The Rothschilds, *and* Colonel Sanders before he went **** up. Oh, I hated the Colonel with is wee *beady* eye! And that smug look on his face, "Oh, you're gonna buy my chicken! Ohhhhh!"

Yes, sad isn't it? It's like all things today, we are asked to take sides with good or evil and each side campaigns for the halo.

It's mostly a recent thing, ever since the electronic voting machines came into existence. Diebold and Triad machines have been systematically programmed in many southern states and other places to sometimes double the republican vote, or after a certain number of democratic votes, to switch them to the Repulsive Party nominee. Congress here is a fallacy, and the state of the world is terrible because of the fascists in power now.

The House of Repr's, which was just just recaptured by the Democrats should really be a 75 seat difference in favor of the Democrats. The Senate should have been Democratic all these years, and the Presidency has been rigged over the past two elections, and with it, a world domination agenda and a stripping of US resources, while building a huge military machine in an attempt to denominate the world and steal the oil. Partly, this was bvecuiase old man George H. Bush, who was the former president, was once the head of the CIA where he ran drugs and made a fortune in the early 1970s. Check out Michale Ruppert..

The latest news, the swelling of the republican voting rolls illegally by naming fictitious and dead people was done so that the electronic voting machines' results would more closely represent the huge swing in votes. The Media and particularly, groups like Moveon, Blackbox, CLG and others have uncovered these actions and massive lawsuits and criminal Charges will be filed.

In fact, Mr. Bush has signed a cornucopia of executive orders which he claims can override the US Constitution. We will have a judicial showdown within a year to determine whether or not we stay a constitutional republic, or the US has gone fascist. With the disunion will come the balance of world power.

It is that simple. We have been stripped of a real democracy by a group who represented a fascist-Nazi mentality.

Overeating Bush ran on is exactly the opposite to what he stated he was. And the world has laughed at us .

Yeah, it may seem that way to an outsider, but it is passion for the democracy that your seeing. Personally I think the parties are too left or right for the general public and they should come more to the center (like the winning candidates have) and hold down the rhetoric a bit.

The worst may be yet to happen. Since the Dems got control of the House and possibly the senate, I fear they will spent the next two years trying to impeach and/or reverse everything that has happen in the last six years.

Someone get me a pair of earplugs.

What is really sad are those allowed to vote in this country that refer to it as a democracy. They think that America is a democracy and then complain about rigged voting machines when the popular vote is overridden by the Electoral votes.

What they need, instead of voting privileges, are history lessons.

It's a big reason why I just stay away from politics all together and most certainly do not discuss politics with others. Nothing but trouble because it seems that most people have one view, which each believes their one view is the right view, and God forbid anyone has a different view!

Sad but true. Extreme viewpoints seem to be the case these days. Hopefully sharing power will help for a while but Presidential elections in 2 years will start it all up again.
