Why are so many people who are insulting the left side claiming to be independents today?

I insult idiots on both sides as I see their idiotic posts.

Because the Republican party has lost its way. It used to be conservative but has shifted towards idiocy. What happened to small government, fiscal responsibility, and less government control over private lives? I used to be a Republican, but not anymore. I definitely am not a Democrat, or leftist, however. Since I don't fall into either category, I consider myself an independent, even though I fall on the right side of the political spectrum.

Both parties have stupidity among them. Democrats want to increase the minimum wage which will only cause higher inflation and higher unemployment. Democrats want to increase protectionism which will ruin the economy. Republicans want to impose a ban on gay marriage even though a central tenet of conservative philosophy is to not interfere in private lives. Republicans also ignore the effects of global warming (the one thing I'm not conservative on), which is idiotic.

If only Goldwater were still around...

I "insult" moronic questions and answers from both sides. I am unbiased. And I am a Libertarian. I could not vote since I missed the residency requirements by three (two) days, but had lost my residency in the previous state.
