A crossover can boost bass or change frequncies on mid or highs but it depends on the quality of your crossover, but if really works best with more than one amp or a multi-channel amp.
If you wold like the get better tunes without an amp use an EQ

Am I the only individual who does not examine solutions by potential of folk who don't have a sprint blue guy next to them? besides, re: your question - the extra intense something is the less intense I take it. I even have an inverted attitude. Funerals could be humorous, dammit! you are able to chortle approximately getting fired. regardless of the undeniable fact that, dropping the taxi receipt and dreading having to justify why you may get reimbursed $15 whether you haven't any longer have been given a receipt - that's what keeps me up at evening.

if you hear distortion coming from any speakers due to the fact that they are trying to reproduce frequencies outside of their capable range, then yes it will help. if not, then it will be a waste of money. without an amp, and, depending on the specific stereo you have, you probably wont need it

It's not for sound improvement.
A crossover just separates frequencies to specific speakers/subs.
