79 million people, or 40.4% turned out to vote Tuesday, compared to 39% in the 2002.
I think it,s sad that we don't have higher turnout rate in our elections. You would think that more people would want to have their voices heard.

According to a thinktank that analyzes civic participation, the election garnered about 40% of registered voters-- pretty good for a midterm election.
