You don't say what year your Dakota is, but I assume you have a headlight cartridge (part number 9007) Go to an auto parts store and buy the cartridge (less than $10) Open the package, but don't touch the glass part of the light to see what it looks like. Open your hood and look behind the lights, you will see the plastic part of the light with a wire plug on it. Remove the wire plug by squeezing and pulling. Once the wire plug is off, just turn the headlight cartridge to remove. Replace that with the new cartridge and replace the wire plug. Make sure you don't touch the glass of the new light. Oil from your skin can make the light fail prematurely when it gets hot.

Buy a new light, open the hood, unplug the cord going to the old light, take the old light out, put the new light in, plug in the new light, close the hood.
If you don't know what kind of headlight to buy, the auto dept has a computer or a book which you can look up the info in. You'll need to know the year, make, and model of your truck.

Buy a replacement headlight, find the frame or bracket that holds the light in place, unplug it, remove what's holding it in place, put the new headlight in, put the frame on the light, plug on the wire and give it a try.

i suppose you could replace just the bulb if it is new enough to have composite headlamps. if it is an older model you replace the entire sealed beam. and the procedure is different for that. if you gave the year, the answer may pertain more to your vehicle.
one important thing no one said...if it does have the small replaceable bulbs, you must be very careful not to touch the glass part of them. by doing so you decrease the life of them drastically.

here is how i explained it to my daughter. pop your hood. find the socket to the light that is out. take hold of it and turn it 1 forth to 1 half of turn, then you should be able to pull it out. unplug the wire to it and do the reverse with the new bulb. if my daughter can do it then so should you.

once you're saying you referred to as the "guarantee style," turn into that specifically for provider, or did you touch Honda customer provider? oftentimes, a decision in to a producer's customer provider line with a grievance some dealership's provider (or lack therof) gets you what you choose for. in case you referred to as a style particular to guarantee themes, verify your handbook and revenues workplace work for a CS hotline and get in touch with them particularly. i could additionally take it to a distinctive broking. do no longer tell them that this is been worked on in the previous- enable them to verify the undertaking on their very own. on the grounds that there is not any provider historic previous on the motor vehicle, there is not any past themes they could desire to concern themselves with. And particular, you're coated under the Lemon regulation. Use it on your benefit. stable success!

Maybe you want to fix it yourself, but many discount autoparts stores will install it for free for you! Try Autozone or the equivalent.
Good luck!
