Are there no citizenship requirements for medicaid?

i worked at a health clinic, and as far as i know, you must be pregnant to get medicaid if you don't have a social security number. if a kid wasn't born here, then he has no coverage. they don't get everything handed to them on a platter, but they get a lot.

I've seen women come here six months pregnant just so that their babies will be citizens and we pick up the medical bill and also give them some welfare if they lie and say they don't have a man supporting them.

however, they are very grateful to the US. they say their country would leave them in the streets to dies without a second thought.

They recognize how much we help them.

MediCaid is obtained through your county welfare (AFDC) office. You must meet certain low income requirements and it is also based on the number of dependents you have. If you don't have any children you can't get it. That is why the illegal immigrants have more children than most Americans. We want to be self-sufficient and teach our children to be self-sufficient also. If we go on welfare it is because something beyond our control has happened such as a job loss, deserted by childrens father, no child support, or illness that has caused income to decrease. Most Americans eventually get on their feet and get off welfare. Illegal immigrants and also some Americans seem to think welfare is a permanent way of life. They should be stopped. They should be required to work for at least part of their welfare whether it is food stamps, AFDC (check) or MediCaid. Illegal immigrants should NOT be getting ANY federally funded assistance. Illegals use forged, stolen and fake ID's. The county offices don't check it out to verify it. Our government is beginning to crack down on welfare fraud. Those illegal immigrants will soon be caught up with. There are fines for welfare fraud as well as being in the country illegal and ID theft.

Emergency Rooms - The EMTALA law says no one can be turned down for medical treatment due to inability to pay. Illegal immigrants abuse this law for clinical type health care by going to ER's. Due to the overwhelming abuse by mostly Hispanic illegal immigrants in California, 100's of hospitals have been forced to close their doors. This is NOT taxpaid assistance. The HOSPITALS had to cover those care costs, hence they had to shut-down.

MediCaid and MediCal - tax-paid out of the weekly paychecks of legal citizens. Illegals used fake, forged, stolen and 'rented' identification (SS cards, drivers license, etc.)

Illegal immigrants drain our TAX-PAID services: Welfare, WIC, Food Stamps, AFDC, Medicaid, MediCal, School lunch programs!! They DO NOT pay in as much as they TAKE out in services.

EDIT: In order to prove 'indigent' you have to APPLY. Let them know you have no money and you must show your paycheck stubs for a couple of weeks to prove it. The illegals have very low wages showing on their paychecks (even though they get paid part of it in cash under the table in many cases and actually make a very GOOD wage)Thieves and criminals find out how to cheat systems and they teach family members so the cyclic abuse continues. Illegals should be deported, no question about it.

I think the federal government is trying to start requiring medicaid users proof of citizenship. In fact, they are going to start requiring that proof of citizenship from newborns (who are evidently citizens) whose parents are undocumented immigrants.

How it works with medicaid is that you have to proof low income in order to apply. The undocumented immigrants who get their health expenses covered have already proof their low income and gotten a state health card or an emergency health card (depending on the state). I know as a fact, because I've done a lot of work with undocumented immigrants, that you won't receive free services at least that you have those cards or the hospital has agreed to give you an 100% discount, in every other situation the undocumented alien has to pay as much as you or me.

So until today, it's a matter of low income and not of citizenship, but that's changing very quickly so undocumented aliens cannot obtain medicaid.

WHY should your bill be paid? Are you an illegal immigrant?

People don't "claim" that illegal immigrants are receiving free health care, it's a FACT.

If you are an illegal you don't have proper ID. They give false info and walk away. But some states used to just insure them until the Feds brought the hammer down.

Illegal Aliens walk out on their bills and use many different stolen Identifications.

Many illegals get free medicaid and receive welfare because they use fake documents. Either bought or stolen.

Did you attempt calling them? i'd only to make constructive that they did no longer screw something up. this would take place. A SIMPLE CHECK ON YOUR OWN COMPUTER WOULD TELL YOU WHO CAN QUALIFY..

BUT ITS BETTER TO BASH EVERYBODY..
